Now, there can be irrelevant keywords as well such as “how to become a dog trainer” this keyword would be suitable as a blog post or for someone trying to share information, however, it would not really have any power to grab new clients.
Try searching for your niche and keywords using tools like BuzzSumo, Google Trends & industry forums.
Keyword research adds value and purpose to your content, the main goal of KR is to ensure that you target a keyword that a lot of people are searching for in order to get more visitors.
Example: As per Keyword Everywhere Chrome extension the keyword “hire dog trainer” is searched on an average of 70 times per month whereas “dog trainer near me” is searched 1,800 times every month.

Before I start writing an article around a topic or a keyword I always perform a Google search to see the sites currently dominating the rankings.
I would then copy the URL of the top 3 ranking sites and paste it in the web page word counter tool in order to find the number of words on the page. You would be able to see how many words the writer used and also get a view of the most used keywords in the article.
What is the intent of the searcher? This is a big one. By this time, you have the right keywords and the average number of words you need on the page you plan to create but you need to know the intent of the article.
The intent of the article should be shown in the title of the article and also in the Meta Description of the article.
This would tell search engines and users exactly what the article is meant to accomplish and makes searchers click on your website link more often as compared to the other ranking sites.
