Bertolozi's Pizzeria Case Study With Verified Results

Bertolozi's Pizzeria, Atlanta Restaurant SEO and Web Design

Bertolozi's Pizzeria is an Atlanta restaurant on Roswell Road founded by chef and owner Danny Huber. The kitchen makes Chicago tavern-style pizza: cracker-thin crust, edge-to-edge toppings, square-cut slices, the pizza Danny grew up eating in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. The food and the brand had a clear identity; the challenge was making that identity visible to Atlanta diners searching on Google, Google Maps, social media, and the AI platforms that now recommend restaurants.

Egochi runs the engagement as one connected program: restaurant web design and development, SEO and local SEO, Google Business Profile management, link building, branding, creator outreach, and AI SEO. Monthly website traffic grew from roughly 300 visits to roughly 5,000, a 1,567% increase, and Dave Portnoy's One Bite review put a publicly documented 7.3 score behind the brand.

The Challenge

When the work started, the website drew about 300 visits a month in a market crowded with established pizza names, delivery apps, directories, and restaurants holding years of reviews. The restaurant needed more than a pretty site: it needed to appear for Atlanta pizza searches, rank in Google Maps, explain its tavern-style positioning, read cleanly on phones, route customers straight into Toast online ordering, and get picked up by Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT when people ask where to eat.

Strategy & Solution

  • Web Design and Development

Egochi built the site on WordPress with a custom Elementor build, designed around what restaurant customers actually do: view the menu, check the location, learn the style of pizza, meet the chef, and order. Instead of a heavy ecommerce flow, every ordering path connects straight into Toast, so a visitor moves from discovery to an order in a few taps. The build carried technical SEO foundations, Restaurant and LocalBusiness structured data, analytics and conversion events, and mobile performance work.

  • SEO and Topical Authority

Rather than chasing only broad phrases, the SEO program built semantic relevance around what makes the restaurant distinct: Chicago tavern-style pizza, cracker-thin crust, thin-crust and Chicago-style searches in Atlanta, and the North Atlanta and Roswell Road area the kitchen serves. Content, internal links, and entity work tie the restaurant, the cuisine, the menu, the location, and the owner together so search engines and AI systems understand all five as one entity.

  • Google Business Profile and Local SEO

Many diners choose from the map without visiting a website, so the profile got the full program: category review, NAP consistency, menu and ordering links, food photography, Google Posts, review monitoring, citation cleanup, and map-rank tracking. The goal is the actions that matter to a restaurant: calls, directions, menu views, and orders.

  • Creator Outreach and the One Bite Review

To build local awareness faster than rankings alone allow, Egochi pursued an earned review from Dave Portnoy's One Bite, the most watched pizza review franchise in the country. Portnoy visited, reviewed the pizza, and scored it 7.3; the review published January 28, 2026 on his public One Bite profile. The restaurant did not control the verdict, which is exactly why it works: branded searches, social discussion, and a third-party entity signal Google and AI systems can read.
